The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, on August 28, 2026, issued a notification regarding a reduction in the tax rate on Motor Spirit and Diesel Oil.
The following has been stated: -
•The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has amended the Jammu and Kashmir Motor Spirit and Diesel Oil (Taxation of Sales) Act, 2005.
•Against Serial No. 4 of the Schedule, the existing tax rate of 21% has been reduced to 5%.
•The amendment partially modifies SRO-262 dated June 06, 2018.
•The revised tax rate is deemed effective from August 28, 2026.
